Public Information: CSX Repairs to Close Crossing at County Road 630 (Brewster Road)

Bartow, Fla. (February 24, 2023) — Repairs to a CSX Transportation (CSX) rail crossing will close County Road 630 (Brewster Road) just west of Duke Energy’s Tiger Bay Plant in Fort Meade on Monday, February 27 for one day. Crossing was recently damaged and temporarily repaired by CSX. Permanent repairs should take one-day to complete, and roadway is expected to reopen on Tuesday morning, February 28. Westbound traffic approaching crossing will detour south along Peeples Road. Eastbound traffic approaching crossing will divert northerly at County Road 655 (Alturas Road) or southerly at Old Brewster Road. Depending on destination, detours can be lengthy. Motorists are advised to drive carefully, be alert to signs redirecting traffic, and add extra drive time to trips through the area.
